Privacy Policy
Dayavue has no separate user account, advertising, or embedded tracking or analytics SDKs. Your calendars and daily plans are not sent to an app server operated by us.
The app processes data on your device and uses Apple services for calendars, iCloud and maps. Visiting this website, contacting support and, where applicable, testing through TestFlight involve additional data processing, described below.
1. Controller and contact
Jan de Boerc/o Block Services
Stuttgarter Str. 106
70736 Fellbach
Germany
Email: contact@jandeboer.de. In this policy, “we” refers to the provider, Jan de Boer.
2. Calendars and reminders (EventKit)
With your system permission, Dayavue uses Apple's EventKit to access the iCloud calendars and reminder lists you select. It processes the content needed to display and plan your day, including titles, dates, times, durations, due dates, completion status, calendar or list assignments, and any locations, notes, links, recurrence information and, where relevant, attendee information.
Dayavue can create events and reminders and save your edits and completion changes back to the corresponding Apple sources. It requests full calendar or reminders access for this purpose. Your selection within the app determines which sources are included in your plans. The original calendars and reminders sync according to your Apple and iCloud settings.
You can revoke access in your iPhone's Privacy & Security or app settings. Without permission, the corresponding features are unavailable. Revoking permission alone does not delete planning data already stored.
3. Daily plans, local storage and iCloud
Dayavue stores daily plans, references and content imported from calendars and reminders, completed days, planning decisions, journeys, saved places including “Home”, and preferences locally. When iCloud is available, the app uses CloudKit to sync its planning data to the private database in your Apple Account. This is not a public profile or a user database operated by us.
Storage supports daily planning and restoring or synchronising your plans. Local data may also be included in device backups you configure. Apple's privacy information additionally applies to iCloud, backups and Apple's own processing.
4. Places, maps and travel times (MapKit)
Dayavue uses Apple MapKit for place searches, maps and travel-time estimates. Requests may send search terms, addresses or coordinates, map regions, origin and destination, transport mode, and planned departure or arrival times to Apple. Network services also process connection information required to respond, such as an IP address. Automatic estimates for journeys already in your plan can also trigger requests.
The current app does not request a live GPS device location or record your movements. Places come from your entries, calendar locations or map searches. When you open a place or route in Apple Maps, its settings and Apple Maps privacy information apply to further use. Place searches and current travel-time estimates are unavailable without these online services.
5. Weather (WeatherKit)
WeatherKit is not enabled in Dayavue as of the date above. The app therefore makes no weather requests at present. If a weather feature is introduced, we will update this policy beforehand to describe the location data actually transmitted. Apple explains the service in its WeatherKit information.
6. Widgets and notifications
For its widget, Dayavue saves a reduced view of your daily plan in local storage shared by the app and widget. Reminder, preparation and departure alerts are scheduled as local operating-system notifications after you allow notifications. There is no separate Dayavue push server for these alerts. Depending on your system settings, content may appear on your lock screen. You can manage notifications and widgets in system settings.
7. App Store, diagnostics and TestFlight
Apple handles downloads, any purchases and app distribution. We do not receive payment details such as your credit card number through this process. Apple processes its own store and diagnostic data under its terms and may provide us with aggregate statistics or shared error reports.
If you use a beta through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects installation, usage and crash data and shares it with us to diagnose problems and improve the app. Depending on the invitation, your name and email address may be visible. According to Apple, those details are not shown to us when you join solely through a public invitation link. Feedback you choose to submit may include contact details, text and screenshots. See TestFlight & Privacy. This is a separate part of beta distribution; Dayavue itself contains no analytics SDK.
8. This website
The website runs on our server hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a German data centre. To deliver the pages, the server infrastructure processes necessary technical information such as your IP address, request time, requested page and HTTP request information sent by your browser.
We do not maintain regular HTTP access logs for this website or create visitor profiles. Request data needed to deliver the pages is processed during the request. Technical data arising from a fault or security incident is used only as long as necessary to investigate and secure the service. See Hetzner's privacy information for the infrastructure provider's own processing.
This website uses no cookies, local storage, analytics tools or advertising trackers. Fonts and styles are delivered without external requests. Apple maps and weather services are not embedded here. External websites are accessed only when you follow a link.
9. Contacting us
If you email us, we process your email address, message, any name you provide and attachments you choose to send, in order to respond. Our technical email service providers participate in this processing. Please send only necessary information and remove private calendar content from screenshots. We delete correspondence when the matter is resolved and there is no further reason to retain it. Statutory duties or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims may require longer retention.
10. Purposes, legal bases and recipients
Where we are responsible for processing, providing the app features you request and handling contract-related enquiries relies on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where separate consent is the basis for optional processing, Article 6(1)(a) applies. System permissions additionally control technical access to protected data.
Secure website delivery, troubleshooting and general communication rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests are a functioning, secure service and responding to your enquiries. Legally required retention relies on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Recipients follow from the operations described above: Apple for the system and cloud services used, Hetzner for hosting, and email service providers when you contact us. We do not sell personal data or disclose it for advertising. Apple may process data outside the European Economic Area. Apple's privacy policy explains the responsible Apple entities, transfers and safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. We do not promise exclusively European storage by Apple.
11. Retention and deleting your data
Plans and archives remain stored for your use until you delete or reset them. Removing individual entries may leave technical deletion markers needed for synchronisation. In “Settings → Reset app”, you can delete Dayavue's stored plans, archives and preferences. With iCloud active, deletion is synchronised; completion depends on a successful Apple sync. Your original calendar events and reminders remain intact.
Uninstalling alone does not reliably remove all iCloud or backup copies. Manage those separately through your Apple and backup settings. We retain support information and error reports only as long as required for the particular enquiry or investigation, or for legal reasons. We do not control Apple's own retention periods.
12. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You can withdraw consent for future processing. Where processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. Contact contact@jandeboer.de to exercise these rights.
You can also complain to a data protection authority, particularly in your place of residence or work, or where an alleged infringement occurred. One point of contact is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.
You are not obliged to send support information or grant optional permissions. Without necessary data, the related feature or our ability to handle your enquiry may be limited. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
13. Changes
We update this policy when features or data processing change. The scope described here is current as of the date shown above.
